OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio — Dozens of teams filled the sand courts at Razzles in Olmsted Falls on Saturday, competing in a volleyball tournament to support three Lorain police officers who were ambushed on July 23.

The fundraiser is benefiting the families of Officer Phillip Wagner, who was killed in the shooting, as well as Officer Brent Payne and Officer Peter Gale, who were injured.

Razzles owner, Geoffrey Moyse said the community was quick to get involved.

“We have fundraising tournaments all throughout the summer,” Moyse said. “This is just one we felt we wanted to jump in.”

Moyse said he felt especially moved to act for Wagner’s family.

“He left behind three kids and a wife,” he said. “To me that’s something to step up for. That’s something we wanted to help out with.”
