When I sat down to write this week, I thought about all I’ve done in the last seven days. It’s been busy, to say the least.

Besides the busyness, though, there were some very special events that I couldn’t wait to share today.

The first of these special events was the 40th anniversary of Msgr. David Tressler’s priesthood.

Monsignor is the priest at our family parish, St. Ignatius Loyola in Kingston, but was also my high school principal.

I remember starting school at Bishop Hoban High School in 2000. Everyone said I would love the principal because of his affability and charisma; they were right.

He made all of the students feel noticed at Hoban, no matter what group of friends you had or the family you were from. He also didn’t judge and gave each person respect.
