(FOX40.COM) — The Vacaville Fire Protection District received multiple 911 calls reporting a grass fire on Saturday afternoon in Vacaville. • Video above: How to report a public safety threat
According to VFPD, the fire started on the block of 3900 block of Cantelow Road. When the first crew arrived, they quickly upgraded the incident to a second alarm, bringing additional resources.
VFPD said the initial size-up estimated the fire at roughly eight acres, burning with a moderate rate of spread and with potential threats to nearby structures.
After coordinating with multiple fire agencies, firefighters were able to contain the fire at 12 acres, VFPD said. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
