House prices are increasing across most of Kent, with average homes in one area costing over £33,000 more for the typical home. It cost £457,000 to buy the average home in Tunbridge Wells in the 12 months to July, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.

That’s 7.9% more than a year earlier, an increase of over £33,000. Medway has seen the next largest increase, with average prices increasing by 5.0% over the last year. In Tonbridge and Malling, meanwhile, they’re up by 4.8% and in Folkestone and Hythe by 3.9%.

Only three areas of Kent have seen prices fall, two of which just by a fraction of a percent. The average house price in Thanet is down 1.5% to £268,000, a fall of £4,000. In Canterbury prices are down by 0.5% and in Dover by 0.1%.
