Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is coming to Marathon County, aiming to foster a love of reading among young children.

The program, which has been running for 30 years, provides free, high-quality books to children from birth to age 5, according to a community announcement. The goal is to raise $30,000 and register 1,000 children in the first year.

The initiative is a collaborative effort involving several local organizations, including the Abbotsford School District, Babies Place, Childcaring Inc., D.C. Everest Area School District, Head Start, Healthfirst Network, Marathon County Birth-to-Three Special Education Program, Marathon County Health Department, Marathon County Public Library, Marathon County Literacy Council, Medical College of Wisconsin-Central Wisconsin Campus and Wausa
