Martin Lewis has had his say on the age-old debate of whether people should leave their heating on low all day during colder weather.

As temperatures begin to plummet, many UK households will be thinking about firing up their heating systems.

However as energy bills were set to climb due to the rising price cap, some will be questioning whether it's more cost-effective to maintain constant heating or just turn it on when needed.

Martin, founder of Money Saving Expert, previously gave his opinion on the subject during an appearance on ITV's This Morning.

He said: "They say it's better to only put the heating on when you need it.
