KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Much needed rain is ahead for us as we move into the first week of fall. Think of it as a summer-like pattern with downpours, southwest winds and temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.
SUNDAY - We’ll start with some sunshine and finish with some thunderstorms going through Sunday. Some of the storms will bring heavy downpours at times. Temperatures on Sunday afternoon will be in the upper 80s.
SUNDAY NIGHT - A few lingering showers and storms then becoming mostly cloudy with a low near 64 in Knoxville for Monday morning. It will be closer to 62 in Crossville.
MONDAY - A few more rain chances for Monday and the potential for some strong lightning as well. Some of the most intense pockets come after lunch and across our plateau communities.
