Sylvan Glen Lake Park in Troy has new playground equipment designed to encourage inclusive and active play.

City, state and federal officials recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the park, 5501 Rochester Road.

The new amenities for children include:

– Play structures for 2–5-year-olds and 5–12-year-olds

– Sled hill where participants ride on a large piece of cardboard

– Embankment slide

– Rope climber

– Nest swing

– Four-bay swing set with two toddler seats.

The city also added a new pavilion at the park.

The amenities were funded by a $1.5 million grant from U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens’ Community Project Funding. Stevens, D-11th District, represents Troy and much of Oakland County.
