A dog walker was threatened by a man said by police to have been holding a shard of glass wrapped up in tape. Police said a group of men 'managed to fend off the suspect' and he fled.

CCTV images have now been released as police issue an urgent appeal in a bid to put a name to the face.

Officers have confirmed they want to speak with the man in the images revealed in relation to the incident in the Winterford Road area of Manchester, near Cheetham Hill , on September 11.

In a statement issued on Sunday, GMP said: "At around 7.10pm on Thursday 11 September 2025, a man was walking his dog in Bellott Street dog park when he was approached by a man acting suspiciously.
