A NOUGHTIES film star looked unrecognizable as he discussed a 'huge crush' on a co-star from his debut movie - do you recognise him?

Although released in 2000, comedy-drama Almost Famous was set in the 1970s.

The story followed William Miller, a teen journalist writing for Rolling Stone.

A quarter century on, the actor looks much different - now sporting shorter hair and a beard.

Patrick Fugit, 42, received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for his performance as William ,

Speaking to PEOPLE , Patrick admitted to having had a "huge crush" on co-star Kate Hudson , who played Penny Lane.

Patrick recalled: "I screen tested with Kate Hudson and she was very magnetic and very captivating.

"I was 16. I was like, 'Yes, I will be excited to do scenes with her.'"
