EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Police say an officer and suspect were both taken to the hospital following a shootout early Sunday morning.
According to EPD, officers located a stolen vehicle at Rally’s on Virginia Street just before 1:30 a.m.
Police say the two suspects in the vehicle ran away when officers approached the vehicle, and one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot at officers.
One officer was hit.
Police returned fire, hitting the suspect, according to a news release.
There is currently no word on either the officer or suspect’s condition.
EPD says the second suspect, a juvenile, was eventually located and taken into custody.
Evansville Police plan to hold a news conference Monday to give further details.
