Everyone who attended the inaugural Walk to End Alzheimers at Pioneer Park on Saturday had a good reason for being there — and usually a personal reason.

The two-mile walk began in a field of colorful flowers called the Promise Garden. Each flower color signifies a different connection to the cause of ending Alzheimers.

Orange flowers support the cause and the Alzheimer Association vision of a world without Alzheimers and other dementia diseases. Yellow flowers show support or care for someone living with Alzheimers. Purple flowers signify losing someone to Alzheimer’s disease. Blue flowers show you are living with Alzheimers or another dementia.
