Clemson, S.C. — Clemson had long been the boogeyman for Syracuse football before Saturday. The Tigers owned a 10-2 record against Syracuse, had won six straight in the series and were undefeated in three games at home.

Syracuse’s longest-tenured player on the roster is linebacker Anwar Sparrow, who has been with the Orange since 2020. Following him are multiple players who joined the team in 2021.

They entered Saturday with a three-game losing streak against the Tigers that included a 17-point loss and a blown 21-10 halftime lead. For Sparrow, it was a four-game skid that featured a 26-point loss.
