Marial Lodge, a southern Oregon wilderness lodge more than 120 years old, is for sale.

The historic lodge is located along the Rogue River and was founded in 1903 as a remote post office that could only be accessed by mule or horse. It was built near the gold-mining community of Marial, and was named for its founder, Marial Billings Akesson.

In 1964, the lodge was converted into a secluded wilderness retreat. It has since become a sought-after destination for outdoor lovers and can be accessed by car, boat and hiking trail.

When did Marial Lodge go up for sale?

On Sept. 14, Marial Lodge announced that it was for sale and was open to offers.

The 4,021 square foot lodge is listed at $1.9 million with Whole Heart Realty.
