The Hobbton Wildcat varsity volleyball team took care of the Union Spartans Tuesday despite a close Spartan win in the first game. The ‘Cats were able to take the next three.
But the Spartan JV proved too much for the Wildcats, taking that match 2-1. Wildcat coach Russell Jones commented, “Their big girls at the net were more than we could handle. We don’t have anyone over 5-foot 4-inches and they have a couple of six footers. That was the difference with the JV.”
Union took the first game 25-16; Hobbton got the second game 25-23. Union won the third one 15-10.
Jones continued, “It was the typical JV game. We’d do one thing good and then make a mistake. And, they were the same way; except, they had more size than we did and that made the difference.”
