CHICAGO — A 38-year-old man was shot and killed and a person is in custody after an argument in the West Loop overnight, according to Chicago police.

Police say the victim was outside on foot in the 200 block of North Halsted Street just before 3 a.m. Sunday when he got into an argument with two unidentified men in a gray sedan. One of the men in the vehicle then took out a gun and fired at the victim before fleeing the scene.

The victim was shot in the chest and taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man was grazed in the left leg by a gunshot in the incident. He took himself to a local hospital, where police say he was placed in custody.

No further details have been released about the incident.
