LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - According to the Laredo Police Department, at around 12:57 a.m. Saturday, September 20, a person called authorities to report that someone was firing several shots in the 1000 block of Emerald Valley Drive.

When authorities arrived where the shots were heard, they found two men drinking alcoholic drinks in the back of a parked vehicle.

Upon searching both individuals, officers discovered that one of them was carrying a firearm in his waistband.

The man was identified as 32-year-old Jesús Ramírez Gutiérrez and reportedly admitted to being the person who fired the shots.

Gutiérrez was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within a municipality and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
