British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced in a video statement that the United Kingdom is formally recognising the State of Palestine, describing the move as a step toward reviving hope for peace and a two-state solution.
Canada led the diplomatic move earlier in the day, becoming the first G7 nation to formally recognize the State of Palestine. Prime Minister Mark Carney emphasized his country’s commitment to peace, saying that Canada was offering its partnership in building a peaceful future for both Palestine and Israel. Canadian officials noted that the Palestinian Authority’s rejection of violence and its support for peaceful coexistence were central to the decis
