FLORENCE, S.C. ( WIS /Gray News) - A teaching assistant has been arrested after authorities say he used a “poop spray” to create a foul odor at a South Carolina high school.

Alexander Lewis, a 32-year-old teaching assistant at West Florence High School, allegedly sprayed an odor designed to imitate fecal matter while at school multiple times between Aug. 25 and Sept. 19, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Lewis’ alleged use of the spray, which was acquired online, caused disruption at the school and required children to seek medical attention for respiratory issues, the sheriff’s office says.

The high school also had to spend $55,000 for inspection and damages to its air conditioning system, according to authorities.
