FORT EUSTIS — The U.S. Army is prepping to inactivate U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) on Sept. 26.
The decision to inactivate comes on the heels of the U.S. Army merger that has been in talks at the Pentagon since May.
TRADOC, which is responsible for overseeing the training, education and development of soldiers, is set to merge with Army Futures Command. Together, the two will form Army Transformation and Training Command (ATTC), which will be located in Austin, Texas.
“Since 1973, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command has been the foundation of our Army’s strength. TRADOC embodies the unwavering dedication to training soldiers, developing leaders, and driving the Army’s transformation,” a TRADOC spokesperson said.
