SALT LAKE CITY — A person was diagnosed with measles in Cache County, marking the county’s first known case this year, health officials confirmed Saturday.

The Bear River Health Department said it was “ actively conducting contact tracing to notify individuals who may have been exposed.”

Those exposures may have occurred at two public places: Intermountain Budge Clinic in Logan on Sept. 15 and Chick-fil-A in Providence, Cache County, on Sept. 11, the health department said.

Bear River Health Department said the patient was not vaccinated for measles .

“The best way to prevent measles is through vaccination. The measles vaccine is safe and highly effective, providing lifelong protection for most individuals,” the department said.
