Police are investigating after, officials said, a teen was injured in a shooting that happened early Sunday in Philly's Nicetown section.

And, officials said, first responders only learned about the shooting when officers responded to a report of a 'large crowd.'

According to police, the crowd was reported near the intersection of Bristol Street and Germantown Avenue at about 2:19 a.m. on Sunday morning and, when investigators arrived at the scene they discovered an 18-year-old man who has been shot in the left leg.

The man, officials said, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was placed in stable condition.
