CROSSLAKE — The "gift of life" was given at Crosslake Lutheran Church on Thursday, Sept. 11, during a blood drive sponsored by the Crosslake-Ideal Lions Club.

This blood drive collected 39 units. Blood drive manager Lion Marty Duncan said the Crosslake community has collected a total of 4,300 units, of which 7% were first-time donors.

“A large thank you to all those who gave the gift of life,” Duncan said in a news release. “And a special thanks to our six first-time donors.”

Upcoming blood drives will be Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Gathering Event Center in Crosslake; Thursday, Nov. 13, at Crosslake Lutheran Church; and Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Crosslake Community School.
