MARIETTA, Ga. — A suspect was arrested early Sunday morning by SWAT units in Marietta after allegedly attempting an armed robbery on a taxi driver.

According to Marietta PD, the suspect was picked up by the taxi a little before midnight near the intersection of South Marietta Parkway and Lake Drive. That suspect was then taken to a home on Carolyn Street, only about a five-minute ride away.

While getting dropped off, police say the rider pulled a gun on the taxi driver, who "fled for his life and called 911."

The taxi driver was able to get away unharmed, though it's unclear if anything was taken in the robbery attempt. Police said the driver had "feared for his life," but was not physically injured in any way.
