WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. —

A Kennywood employee was killed after being hit by a vehicle near the park in West Mifflin early Sunday morning.

Allegheny County dispatchers first confirmed to Pittsburgh's Action News that fire officials and police were called to the area of Kennywood Boulevard and Hoffman Boulevard just before 6 a.m. Advertisement

Hours following the incident, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as 73-year-old Lorna Brennen.

Kennywood General Manager Ricky Spicuzza later issued a statement on the incident, confirming an employee had died as a result of the crash.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of one of our hosts, who passed away earlier this morning," Spicuzza said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with their family, friends, and loved ones
