Joycie Prince Braxton (Whiting’s Funeral Home)

In the comfort of her own home, 93-year-old Joycie Prince Braxton of Franklin, Virginia, transitioned to her heavenly home on September 6, 2025.

She received her education in the Southampton County public school system and, upon graduating from high school, proceeded directly thereafter to attend North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics with high academic distinction. She furthered her education by enrolling in postgraduate courses at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Joyice married Paul David Braxton Jr, whom she met while attending North Carolina A&T State University, after graduating in 1954. After marriage, the devoted couple had two child
