PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police are investigating a Sunday morning shooting that sent one person to the hospital.
The shooting happened about 12:51 a.m. at the intersection of Frederick Boulevard and Turnpike Road, according to a Portsmouth Police Department spokeswoman.
Police responding to the scene found a male victim with a gunshot wound. Medics took him to a hospital.
There was no word on his condition on Sunday afternoon, and the investigation was still ongoing.
It was the second shooting in Portsmouth in less than 10 hours, after two minors were injured in a shooting on Darren Drive Saturday afternoon.
