OZARK, Mo. (KY3) -The Ozark Police Department hosted an open testing session Saturday for those interested in becoming officers.
Applicants took written and physical tests at the Ozark High School track.
To pass the physical test, applicants needed to do 20 push-ups, 25 sit-ups, and a 300-meter sprint in one minute each. They also needed to run a mile in fewer than 17 minutes and one second. That and the written exam are just the beginning of the process.
Officers at the event say it was good to see so much interest.
“I thought it was a good turnout,” said Lt. Jared Drye with Ozark PD. “It’s nice having people show up and work through that process with them. It’s always exciting to see who’s interested in a career in law enforcement and what the next generation looks like.”
