LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Dansville football has forfeited this Friday's game against Pewamo-Westphalia due to a lack of healthy players and the Pirates are rescheduling their week of homecoming festivities as a result.

Pewamo-Westphalia announced the changes in a post on the school district's Facebook page.

The game against Dansville was supposed to be the team's homecoming game, but the district said in the post it is rescheduling homecoming events for the week of Oct. 5. Postponed events include the powderpuff football game, dress-up days at school, an assembly and the homecoming dance.

The Pirates play Fowler at home on Oct. 10, and the rivalry game will now also serve as the homecoming game.

The Pirates are also hoping to find a new opponent for this Friday, according to the post.
