Hurricane Gabrielle formed over the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday afternoon with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, carving out a place for itself as this season's second storm to reach hurricane strength.
Though National Hurricane Center forecasters said Gabrielle will likely undergo rapid intensification within the next couple of days, the latest forecast track shows the hurricane turning away from the U.S. and staying east of Bermuda.
The storm is not a threat to Louisiana.
