PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Peoria’s Oktoberfest wrapped a festive weekend of music, food and tradition with a strong turnout and a steady Sunday slate of performances, organizers said.
Chairperson Melissa Stewart called it “a great family-friendly event” centered on sharing German culture through polka, beer, authentic food and traditional dress.
Bands continued to perform through the day, including a visiting group from Germany and Chicago’s Eddie Korosa Jr. “We still have great bands here today and great food,” she said.
“You do not need to be German to come out. We welcome everybody,” Stewart said, noting the organization’s membership continues to grow.
