The family of Queensland man Byron Haddow are calling for answers after learning his body was returned from Bali with an organ missing.
The 23-year-old had been found deceased in the plunge pool of his Bali villa in May.
The Noosa FIFO worker was in the country on holiday at the time.
A push for a local investigation into his sudden death resulted in a delay in repatriating his remains.
A second autopsy by the Queensland coroner then revealed his heart was missing.
“They just rung us to ask if we were aware that his heart had been retained over in Bali,” mother Chantal Haddow told Nine News.
“Just when I thought I couldn’t feel any more heartbroken, it was another kick in the guts.”
The details around why Haddow’s heart was removed remained unclear, and it was later returned to Aus
