Max Miller’s call for troops in Cleveland is a stunt - a potentially dangerous one: Letter to the Editor

To Rep. Max Miller and all Republicans (“ U.S. Rep. Miller wants the National Guard in Cleveland ,” Sept. 18): Some people in every city of our size or larger are afraid to go downtown. Many Republicans now say they are afraid because President Donald Trump and you, Rep. Miller, tell them they should be afraid. Much trouble comes from not being careful, even in Bay Village.

There are times when the National Guard needs to be brought in. This is not one of them. Rep. Miller, you and I know this is a political stunt. You are making a mockery of Charlie Kirk’s death. The president, you and all our leaders should be telling people that violence is not the solution.
