The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide in a neighborhood in the far northwest valley Sunday afternoon.

The homicide happened in the 10000 block of Mount Blackburn Avenue, police said in a brief statement.

The neighborhood is near the Skye Canyon area.
