A Cape Cod man was arrested last month after authorities searched his home and uncovered child sexual abuse materials, Barnstable police announced Friday.

Hyannis resident Cristian Martinez-Peraza pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of child pornography during his arraignment in Barnstable District Court on Aug. 8, according to court records.

Police began investigating Martinez-Peraza as a result of a tip sent to the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Barnstable police said in a press release . The tip indicated that a digital device in his home contained child sexual abuse materials on it.
