Justin Herbert got off to a slow start, but he got big help from Quentin Johnston. He could do little right early in this one, losing time to throw, but won it anyway. His first interception of the year was a tip after he was hit throwing. A truly great throw under duress tied it near the end, when he completed eight straight.
Running back: B
Najee Harris was running well when he suffered an Achilles injury in the second quarter, giving way to rookie No. 1 Omarion Hampton. Hampton, who can run with suddenness and catch, scored the first TD on a well-blocked short run.
