The California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert to help locate a 77-year-old woman who went missing Sunday in Long Beach.

Margarita Espino was last seen about 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Pepperwood Avenue and East Arbor Road in the Lakewood Village area of East Long Beach. She is believed to be on foot.

Espino is Hispanic, 5 feet ,1 inch tall, 100 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a light purple long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who sees Espino or knows her whereabouts was urged to call 911.

The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired person is missing and determined to be at-risk to aid in their swift recovery.
