BUFFALO, N.Y. — It's only natural that Adam Sandler and the Buffalo Sabres would cross paths this weekend.

Sandler has had starring roles in "The Waterboy" and "The Longest Yard," movies that focus on football. But it's the actor and comedian's love of hockey that's most prominent through the years.

Sandler's stardom took off in 1996, when he played a failed hockey player who becomes an unlikely golfing icon in "Happy Gilmore." The sequel was released in late July.

So, of course, before Sandler took the stage Sunday night at KeyBank Center during his "You're My Best Friend" comedy tour, he met some members of the Sabres, who call the downtown venue their home for 41 regular season games each season.

"Do the guys think shampoo is better or conditioner?" the team posted on social media,
