Independent senator Jacqui Lambie says the controversial Hobart stadium has gone through the "worst planning process Tasmanians have ever seen", as she urges crucial state upper house MLCs to kill the project.
Senator Lambie, who represents the state in federal parliament and is a staunch opponent of the stadium, has criticised Premier Jeremy Rockliff for ignoring the advice of the Tasmanian Planning Commission.
"My message to the crossbench [upper house independents] is to find the courage the premier can't," Senator Lambie told the ABC.
"They need to block this stadium and pressure the government to go back to the AFL and renegotiate this shocking deal.
