ATLANTA — Not everyone would welcome a web of giant spiders outside their front door — but for Lee Guthrie, it’s a sight he’s grown to love.
To the right of his porch, several Joro spiders have built sprawling webs.
“It’s like free, natural Halloween decorations,” Guthrie said.
Unlike many who find the large, yellow-and-blue arachnids unnerving, Guthrie said he admires them.
“They’re doing their thing. I’m doing my thing. They’re not bothering me,” Guthrie said. “I just like to leave them be and kind of admire them. It makes me feel connected to nature in a way.”
He even called the spiders beautiful and elegant — though some of his guests are far less impressed.
