WASHINGTON —
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul made an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, where he weighed in on topics ranging from media freedom to the courts and government spending.
Paul opened by addressing the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying he believes he'll be remembered for being someone who "actually would listen to people."
"If you really see the people who came out to him that had a different viewpoint, he would hear them out," Paul said. "And that's different than a lot of the argumentation you see either on TV or on the internet where everybody's drowning people out."
The conversation then turned to free speech, which was sparked by ABC's suspension of Jimmy Kimmel following controversial remarks about Kirk's death.
