A 25-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by two separate vehicles after falling onto the H-1 East Freeway Saturday morning.

According to a police bulletin, at about 12:48 a.m. Saturday, the man was standing on the guardrail of the Kalihi Street overpass and attempted to descend to the roadway when he slipped and fell backwards on to the H-1 East Freeway below. He was then hit by a 34-year-old woman driving a vehicle and then by another 68-year-old woman driving a vehicle.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services took the man to the hospital in serious condition which later deteriorated to critical condition. His identity was not immediately released.

Both drivers remained at the scene and were not injured in the collision.
