NEW ORLEANS — Tens of thousands of mourners gathered Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. to bid farewell to conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, 31, was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University. He is survived by his wife, Erika, their 3-year-old daughter, and 1-year-old son.
The service drew a high-profile crowd, including former President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), and Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, along with numerous Republican lawmakers and conservative leaders.
“Honored to be in Phoenix today to celebrate the incredible life and legacy of Charlie Kirk,” Landry wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “This is a turning point and true revival in our Nation!”
Speaker Johnson shared a video from the service, quoting
