ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

On Sunday, a music extravaganza fundraiser took place at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater.

NM We Care Project and New Mexico Dream Center hosted the event. The fundraiser had four local artists perform from 6 to 10 p.m. Organizers said the proceeds will go to local organizations for human trafficking and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People.

"We decided to have a music extravaganza to gather people to raise awareness about human trafficking, which is a cancer in our society," said Valeria Garcia, of NM We Care Project.

Birga Alden, the chief communications director for the New Mexico Dream Center, said funding is essential for them to continue providing services.
