BLACKSBURG — That’s a statement win, Indiana.
The Hoosiers led by 25 at halftime against Illinois. They didn’t take their foot off the gas by scoring 28 unanswered points in the second half on the way to a 63-10 win over an Illinois team that was ranked in the top 10 in last week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Indiana moved up to No. 13 while Illinois dropped 12 spots from seventh to 19th in my ballot for this week. The Illini weren’t helped by other teams winning and solidifying their spots in the ballot.
Most of the top 10 enjoyed their first of two off weeks this season, so there wasn’t much movement in the rest of my ballot.
