A significant fire has erupted in a block of flats in Enfield, north London, prompting a rapid response from emergency services. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) reported that the blaze broke out around 5:19am on Maybury Close, affecting two flats on the second floor of the three-storey building.

Upon receiving the first emergency call, the LFB mobilised crews from multiple fire stations, including Enfield, Edmonton, Chingford, Tottenham, Woodford, and Southgate. Additionally, two fire engines from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service joined the effort. In total, ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters are currently on the scene.

The LFB has confirmed that the entire roof of the property is ablaze. To combat the fire effectively, firefighters are utilising two 32-metre turntable ladders as water towers, allowing them to extinguish the flames from a height.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and firefighters are continuing their efforts to bring the situation under control. The LFB has stated that they will provide further updates as the situation develops.
