United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has congratulated Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader Peter Mutharika on his victory in the presidential election held on the 16th of this month.

This comes despite the fact that the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has yet to officially announce the final results.

In a letter released last night, Kabambe emphasized the importance of respecting the will of the people and urged all stakeholders to work towards maintaining peace and stability in the country, even as MEC finalizes the official announcement.

Kabambe also called on Mutharika to ensure that his government serves the interests of all Malawians.
