The High Holy Days of Judaism are just around the corner, with Rosh Hashanah beginning Sept. 22 and Yom Kippur on Oct. 1. It's a time for reflection, community and prayer, and the signaling of the Jewish New Year.

While celebrants fast during the 25 hours of Yom Kippur, many folks have pre- and post-fast food customs, including two festive meals before the fast. While many of you may have your own food traditions for the days around Yom Kippur, there are several North Jersey delis, bakeries and markets offering meals for the holiday.
