Aaron Reid admits he's itching to get back in the Airdrie starting line-up to help fire the Diamonds to a much-needed first league win of the season. ‌

The striker was sidelined for six months after a hamstring injury last season required specialist surgery down in London. ‌

But the former Aberdeen man got his first minutes of the season under his belt in a 2-1 defeat at Partick Thistle on September 12 and in Saturday's 0-0 draw at home to Raith Rovers. ‌

Reid's recovery comes at a time when the Diamonds are desperate for goals and points, having netted just four times in six games and are yet to pick up victory in the Championship.

And the 21-year-old hopes to make his mark in the coming games as he gets back up to speed under new boss Danny Lennon.
