SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Community leaders in Spartanburg are working to breathe new life into a center that's served the area through the decades.
Leaders with the Bethlehem Center launched a capital campaign to raise money for a brand-new space. The place they have in mind is 42,000 sq. ft. and includes an amphitheater, gym, and outdoor classrooms. It’ll be a big upgrade from the center’s current 10,000 sq. ft. space.
"The maintenance of it, of course, the energy efficiency of it, you know, needing new windows and things like that, really make it a challenge to operate in,” said Bethlehem Center Executive Director Patrena Mims. “So, a new facility would allow us to not have to worry about those types of things and really be able to put our dollars into our families."
